The Challenge
I wanted to launch a community for people building real businesses with AI agents. Not another Discord server for sharing ChatGPT screenshots — a place for builders who actually ship products, automate workflows, and make money with agent swarms.
The question was: how fast can you go from "I have an idea" to "it's live" when your entire team is AI agents?
The Stack
Here's what I used:
- 🐙Alex — my AI orchestrator (OpenClaw + Claude Opus). Handled strategy, naming, copy, and coordination.
- 💻Codex — OpenAI's coding agent. Built the entire Next.js landing page autonomously.
- 🎨GPT-4o — generated the logo and X header image from text prompts.
The Timeline
Total time: ~90 minutes. From first message to fully deployed brand.
What the Agents Actually Did
Let me be clear about what was human and what was AI:
- 🧑Me: Had the idea, made decisions (name, direction, approvals), clicked "deploy", registered domain/handles.
- 🤖AI agents: Name brainstorming + availability check, marketing strategy, all copywriting, logo prompt + generation, website code (Next.js + Tailwind), bio optimization, X header prompt.
The ratio was roughly 80% AI, 20% human decisions. But that 20% is the important part — the taste, the direction, the "yes/no" on every output.
The Cost
- • Domain (openagentcrew.ai): $160 (2 years, .ai isn't cheap)
- • Hosting (Vercel): $0 (free tier)
- • AI API costs for this session: ~$3
- • Telegram + X: $0
- • Total: ~$163
The Takeaway
This isn't about speed for speed's sake. It's about what becomes possible when you have an agent swarm that handles execution while you focus on decisions.
Two years ago, this would have taken a week: hire a designer, brief a copywriter, set up the project, write the code, iterate on the design. Now it's a conversation.
That's what Open Agent Crew is about. Not the hype. The actual workflow of building with AI agents, documented in real-time.
